He asserted that the two parties reached a mutual understanding before a decision was taken.
“After careful consideration, we have mutually agreed to terminate my contract,” revealed Okello.
“This decision was not made lightly, and it comes after extensive reflection on both my personal and professional aspirations.”
Okello joined the Algerians in 2020 on a long-term four-year contract from KCCA. At the time of his departure, he still had a year to run before it was cut short.
“I believe this is the right step for both parties, and I’m excited for the next chapter in my career,” Okello added.
He actively played for Paradou for two years but re-joined KCCA at the start of last season on a loan deal. He made eight assists and scored five times for the Uganda Premier League side.
His next move is yet to be known, but it has been reported he could opt for a knee surgery after existing nagging irritations that have prevailed for quite some time now.
Meanwhile, reports over a month back had it that Okello had drawn massive interest from the reigning league champions, Vipers SC. Now 23, the KCCA graduate rose to the limelight in 2017 as a 16-year-old.
He was immediately coded ‘the next big thing’ as he netted a hat-trick on his senior debut against Onduparaka FC.
