“It’s not that I’m bleaching. It’s just that when I started getting more income, I started to take care of myself. That’s why I look this good. There is no way I could bleach myself. Those are just haters spreading this nonsense about me,” Panda said.
This is quite a common phenomenon amongst musicians. As their careers grow after finding fame so does the colour of their skin. A number of entertainers that started with different shades of skin are now ‘different colors.” This is however common with female musicians and if Panda did really bleach, it would earn him a place among the inaugural bleaching class of men.
Female artists such as Sheebah Karungi, Spice Diana, Irene Ntale, TV presenter Diana Nabatanzi among other female celebrities have all been accused of bleaching.
Most people actually do relate being light-skinned with being hot. However, a number of celebrities such as Lydia Jazmine, Winnie Nwagi, Rema Namakula who remained loyal to their skin colors have shown that it’s actually possible to be dark-skinned and yet remain beautiful.
However most people after getting money, really do start to take care of themselves and look good. And the skin also makes the transition from the ‘ghetto to the urban skin.’
