What does this say about Ugandans?
Some people on social media are insinuating that if the intention of the ministry of health to communicate an increase in cases was to make people take the vaccine, then it has worked.
Long lines have been sighted around the areas where vaccines are given. However, it should be noted that the ministry of health has been crying out to the people. For so long, the MOH has just been pleading for those who are especially in risky brackets to get the vaccine. At some point, the Red Cross organization was involved to sensitise people to take this Jab.
Isn’t it awkward now, that the virus is on the rise, people need the vaccine? Anyway, this is a silver lining on the cloud. If this is what people needed to wake up, then it has obviously worked. The first group of people the vaccine was brought for was those above 50 years. Health workers, teachers, those with complicated health disease and the sort.
Probably the speculations around the vaccine have been scaring away some people. Some people have registered some side effects which the MOH says are temporary. Some women say, there has been a change in their menstrual cycle after taking this jab. However, the MOH said and continues to say, the vaccine is safe.
