Uganda’s best soccer iconic Denis Onyango is a Professional footballer who plays for South African Premier Soccer League club known as Mamelodi Sundowns, a Ugandan goalkeeper who also serves as captain in Uganda Cranes team.

Uganda should indeed be proud of Denis Onyango for uplifting the Uganda flag and he’s now categorized and recognized among the most popular football players in both Africa and the World.
Among the shortlisted nominees were voted by CAF development and technical members and these include Mohammed Salah ( Egypt ), Denis Onyango ( Uganda ), Andre Onana ( Cameroon ), Sadio Mane ( Senegal ), Walid Soliman ( Egypt ) and many others. On record, Onyanga Denis is so far the first soccer player to represent Uganda in such a category.
In Uganda, Denis Onyango is the best goal keeper who has made several consecutive records in Uganda Cranes.
Women’s player of the year, Youth player of the year, Coach of the year and National team of the year were also nominated. Of a surprise, Uganda Cranes was nominated for African national team of the year award. Wow, this sounds wonderful.
