“We should not carry grudges and anything that brings negative energy. I want all the staff to release all the positive energy you have. Let’s serve this institution because this institution is a people’s institution. Let’s serve well,” Oulanyah said.
He has also assured the members of parliament that they will need no appointment meeting him. He says his doors will always be open.
“My office requires no appointment for the people at the level of director and of course members of Parliament. I have never kept members of Parliament waiting. So I will continue with this same spirit,”he said.
“This parliament is not for Jacob Oulanyah, it’s not for an individual member of Parliament. It’s for the people of this country. We are working for the interest of this country. Why do we have small grievances affecting what we must do for the people of this country?”
We should agree that no view should be suppressed but received with tolerance and given fair treatment based on known facts & reason.
I pledge not to hold a grudge against anybody.
To those I could have offended, I apologize and ask for your forgiveness. Let’s now work together. pic.twitter.com/e8ZZ3d5MiT— Jacob Oulanyah (@JacobOulanyah) May 26, 2021
Members of parliament have evidently been divided in regard to speakership. The opposition wanted Ssemujju much as they didn’t support him, some NRM MPs wanted Kadaga while other NRM members supported Oulanya.
However, now that the speaker has already been sworn in, there is nothing left to do apart from working to see that development extend time their areas.
