It should be remembered that President in his recent COVID-19 address called upon masses to go for vaccination.
The President said that they will fully open the economy by January 2022. He will however do this after about 4.8 million people have got the vaccine.
Among the musicians who rallied people to go for vaccination is gospel singer, Pastor Wilson Bugembe. Bugembe said that he had suffered from COVID-19 himself and he knows its effects.
“I know how COVID 19 hurts because I got it some time back. That’s why am calling people to get the vaccine. I got my first jab and I’m receiving my second any time soon,” Pastor Bugembe said.
Source management singer Spice Diana also called upon the fans to go and get the vaccines if they want to see them perform again.
“I call upon our fans to go and get vaccinated if they want to see us performing again. I was vaccinated a long time ago because I travel a lot,” the singer said.
NBS TV Uncut show host Anatalia Ozze said that many musicians have not done enough to sensitize the masses about vaccination. This is despite having big numbers following them on their social media platforms.
Uganda Music Association board member Isaac Ruuchi also rallied people to go for the same.
He added that if the public manages to get a vaccination number of 4 million people, the government will open concerts and bars.
Last week Uganda Breweries Limited used singers Ykee Brenda and Azawi as vaccination ambassadors. The exercise took place at Kololo grounds and had a number of people going for the vaccine.
