The portal from Analogue to Digital terrestrial T.V migration has finally come to Uganda which makes it a first step to a lower income country as H.E Yoweri kaguta Museveni president of Uganda said before 2020, this was like a dream never come to many who took it as a spurious action within the country but it was a long-awaited day for the Uganda Communications commission (UCC) because it had announced that the decline of Analogue in Uganda will be 17th June 2015.

The question is have people organized their enigma to face the new Digital migration in the country?
To many who don’t understand the difference between analogue and digital it is that analogue transmits signal in a continuous wave while digital transmits signal in a discrete wave and also allows more channels to be broadcasted which is among the importance of a digital terrestrial TV.
People within the country have been given several ways in how to receive digital tv and this is through purchasing a Set –Top box (STB) or a decoder which is free to air STB / decoder and has no monthly payment or a pay STB/ decoder that comes with monthly description from valid UCC approval certified companies which include:
Brivid Uganda Limited
Widestar Digital (U) Limited
Icomsys Africa Limited
Kagadi Technical Services
eWorld Technologies Limited
Roise de Classe –
Future Electronics (Hisense)
transAfrican Container Transport Limited or buying an integrated D. television set that receives a digital T.V signal without a set box.
The STB/ decoder is a receiver that decodes or converts the D. signal to analogue to enable the channels to be displayed on your analogue TV set and according to UCC, this migration will bring about more efficient use of available radio spectrum for broadcasting and the associated benefits to the broadcasting sector like provision of more services, better quality picture and sound as detailed above.
Unfortunately today in the country people within its Capital have faced the reality even before the decline of the D. migration that was set on 17th June 2015 which consigns an alert to those who have not accepted the fact of the digital migration within Uganda.
