Does Pastor Bugingo Really Sell Holy Soda At 50k? Truth Here

Shocking headlines in various social media platforms made rounds yesterday when it was announced that Pastor Bugingo of House of Prayer International Ministries had introduced a new commodity for sale in his church. This was dubbed as holy soda. But how true is this?

This information came from a notorious X page known as Kampala Journal, which has become renowned for spreading disinformation.

According to this page, it was alleged that the controversial pastor had introduced this soda at a price of Shs. 50,000. And all those who bought it would have a special place in heaven and their blessings would triple.

Many people took this as the truth and even former FDC president Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye’s wife quoted the tweet. She asked the Police to investigate the Pastor since he was running a scamming project on his flock.

Since some born-again pastors like Pastor Kakande used to sell a kilo of rice to his flock at 50k, people believed that Bugingo, too, had brought his own product.

However, a video from this church sermon showed otherwise. The pastor was instead giving out the sodas for free to his congregation. He said that these beverages were kept from the 10th anniversary of celebrating Salt Media.

Pastor Bugingo went on to say that they were going to give them out for free because nothing is for sale at his church, and he emphasized this. He and fellow pastors prayed for the sodas before they were given out.
