Veteran and legendary singer Dr Jose Chameleone has revealed that he’s unbothered by critics. Despite being one of the most talented and respectable singers in the country, the Valu Valu singer has attracted a lot of criticism over the years.
This is partly due to his character which many people find unruly and controversial.
Chameleone has now revealed that he’s not bothered by what these people say, especially the social media critics. This is because everyone has a right to express what they feel.
He pointed out how at one time a person made a comment regarding his brother, Humphrey Mayanja’s death. It said that it was probably Chameleone who killed him.
The singer said that he’s bothered by these comments not because they hurt him but because he’s pained by the mentality of Ugandans.
“To be honest, I’m not hurt by the critics and trolls anymore. This is because I understand everyone has their own opinion. What pains me is the mentality of Ugandans. I wonder how in this day and age we are still thinking with such heads,” said the singer.
The Leone Island boss also opened up about why he works with younger artists. He said that he’s always trying to give them an opportunity that was never availed to him. According to Dr Jose Chameleone, people took long to give him opportunities.
Additionally, he said that he doesn’t care about those who say that working with singers downgrades his brand. This is because he doesn’t see what working with the likes of Fik Gaza takes away from him.
He would rather work with such singers since the established ones do not need the opportunity as much.
