Dr Kizza Besigye To Fight For Uganda’s Freedom Until Death

Former FDC President Dr Kizza Besigye has revealed that he is going to fight for Uganda’s freedom until death. He said he knows blood will be shed but he knows those who really want change will not give up and will not resort to using guns.

Besigye was among the people that fought alongside President Museveni in their struggle for power. However, he later changed his mind saying he doesn’t understand Museveni anymore.

He contested against him four times but lost. Through those presidential campaigns he was arrested, tortured and beaten up. Dr Kizza Besigye didn’t give up, he has been trying so hard to fight but he has continuously failed.

According to the freedom fighter, he has witnessed the armed torture the unarmed. He said he will not use any other means other than the right ones.

Blood will be shed, but for those of us seeking change, there’s no necessity to resort to guns because that would only regress us back to 1986. The conflict we are engaged in is between those armed and those unarmed. Our desire is for the unarmed to prevail and demonstrate their power over those with guns,” he said.

It should be noted that the opposition strongman is currently embroiled in a battle against his former party leaders, the FDC.

They have accused him of fermenting divisions in the party and causing chaos. This has seen the party divide into two factions, the Najjanankumbi and the Katonga faction.
