Tanga Odoi has received a warning for allegedly disrespecting Teso region political leaders. This happened after accusations against the Eastern region NRM Vice Chairperson, Mike Mukula.
Dr Odoi allegedly said Mukula hosted a victory party for the recent by-election won by an independent candidate, Emmanuel Okabe.
Odoi criticized Mukula for failing to turn up as the party welcomed President Museveni in the region. The president apparently appeared there to campaign for the NRM candidate, Philip Ocho.
However, though, two area MPs have taken to Mukula’s defense saying deserting a deceased person’s son in time of need would be unorthodox.
“People from other regions who refuse to take advice like Tanga Odoi were advised when he went there on a stakeholder’s meeting. But they did not listen and instead, when they fail to account for the money they were given, they now shift blame to the leaders of Teso. They must desist from abusing the leaders of Teso,” one of the MPs said.
He also listed all the leaders from the area and told Dr. Odoi that the leaders should not be abused again calling that the last time.
“Mr. Mukula, the speaker, the Vice President, the ministers, the MPs, the LC5s are our leaders, elected people. So no one should dare come and abuse them because you have failed on your work, desist,” he added.
The MPs revealed that they are standing together to tell Tanga Odoi that that should be the last time. They said they understand Teso politics more than any other person.
