The 21-year-old, Roof was placed in a protective custody a head of today’s bail at the Al cannon Retention center in North Charleston, he is expected to be charged initially with murder though more charges are to be added later, the local prosecutor’s office said.

South Carolina laws say that he will not be allowed out on bond and experts say that the case may take six weeks if he is to plead guilty or even to three years if the death penalty is pursued which is legal in south Carolina, but it is also un clear if Roof had a lawyer and attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
Carson Cowles the uncle of the suspect will not forgive his nephew and if roof is given a death penalty he will pull the buttons himself to kill his nephew.
Governor Nikki R. Haley fought back tears, her voice trembling and cracking, at a news conference here. “We woke up today, and the heart and soul of South Carolina was broken,” she said. “Parents are having to explain to their kids how they can go to church and feel safe, and that is not something we ever thought we’d deal with.”
