EC Suspends Voting in Rubaga After Wrong Voting Materials Are Delivered

Electoral Commission has suspended voting at some polling stations in Rubaga South. This comes after Electoral Commission delivered wrong polling ballot papers in Rubaga South.

This has affected District City woman councilors. The first voters at the polling station ticked people they didn’t know. Therefore, the Electoral commission has currently suspended voting at the two polling stations.

It has happened in 3 polling stations. They include Kyengonge parking yard polling station, St. Cecilia polling station and at Bulwa polling station. Bulwa polling station is also where mayoral candidate Erias Lukwago is set to cast his vote.

The EC has however delivered the right material  at Bulwa and polling resumed at 8AM. This is according to Joseph Lukowe, an EC presiding officer there.

At St Cecilia polling station, the first 8 people to vote couldn’t recognize anyone on the ballot. They also had wrong ballot papers and the EC has paused voting currently.

“We noticed after voting. They then informed us that the papers are not the same that’s why we decided to stop”. Emmanuel Mukasa a voter at St Cecilia polling station says.

Kenneth Wabwire Maloba, an EC presiding officer at Kyengonge park yard polling station in Rubaga South says they have suspended the process as they wait on EC to deliver the right material.
