He took to social media on Friday and shared a video clip of a piece of work on his upcoming video. He features Mama Monique Seka on the ‘Missounwa’ track that is being screened on the New York City’s Times Square billboard.
‘’Pass by the New York Time Square in the US, you will see your boy Eddy Kenzo in partnership with@primemusicpartner getting ready to release an African classic we all grew up enjoying titled Missounwa redone with Mama Monique Seka.’’ Eddy Kenzo wrote.
He went ahead and wrote about being the first Ugandan musician to achieve this and said ‘Let the Music Speak’. In the clip he shared, Kenzo’s photo appeared next to renowned American musician Alicia Keys.
The New York Times Square is a public art program of the Times Square Alliance. It is the largest public platform for innovative contemporary performance and visual arts. Originally known as Long Acre Square after London’s carriage district, Times Square served as an early site for horse exchange.
It has over 312,000 daily visitors making it one of the highest profile public arts programs. Since its emergence, Times Square has featured works of nearly 200 prominent and emerging artistes.
Eddy Kenzo is well known locally for a number of popular songs such as Super power etc. He also features popular African artists.
