This can be something good if all entertainment journalists could join in. First of all, they are experienced and well-versed with the media. It will be easy for them to promote a musician. Not just that but after the lockdown, they surely must have learned a lot. Many media houses laid off workers as a way of minimising expenditures. Anyone who didn’t have a side business must have felt it.
Most of the times, people wait for something to take off before they interest themselves with it. However, there is always something about starting with a business. You know the foundation, vision and purpose of the business. Most journalists have not yet run to this and they must have their reasons.
Meanwhile, this record label has already signed an artist who they unveiled during the launch known as Flona. She was kind enough to share her story.
“One day I was singing Iryn Namubiru’s “Nkuweeki’” in the kitchen while preparing katogo unaware that one of the directors of the company was standing right behind me listening. He was surprised and asked me to sing again. He then dragged me to audition with Blue Note Band, which is the company’s band,” Flona said.
This label will be handling video and audio production, plus the promotion of their artists.
