Erik Ten Hag Says MAn United Are Not Ready As Premier League Starts

Coach Erik ten Hag has acknowledged that his Manchester United side is not prepared for Friday night’s Premier League opener against Fulham as the 2024-25 EPL season reopens.

Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, who signed this week, will join Ten Hag’s squad right away for Fulham’s visit to Old Trafford, the manager confirmed.

New signings Joshua Zirkzee and young defender Leny Yoro, however, will miss United’s Premier League debut.

Ten Hag will also be in charge of determining the suitability of other players who have shown up for training at various points during the summer because of international obligations.

Read his statement below;

“It’s true it’s not the pre-season where you can in five, six weeks work on the team. It’s very complicated. We had the USA tour squad, then we added the players who did the Euros and Copa America. And now new signings and now we have to make a team from it. We have this problem but, still, we have some rules, some principles and we have to make a start. We can’t hide ourselves, we can’t run away from it, so we have to deal with it,” Ten Hag said

Mr. Erik Ten Hag, who worked with both De Ligt and Mazraoui at Ajax, verified that they would play against Fulham despite United’s early absences from the season. The duo were recently signed from Bayern Munich.

Manchester United will take on Liverpool in the opening month of the 2024–25 Premier League season. This will be after opening the campaign at home against Fulham.

The new season will begin on Friday, August 16, with kickoff scheduled for 10pm Ugandan time. After that, on Sunday, September 1, the Red Devils will play their first home derby of the season against Liverpool after traveling to Brighton.
