At the moment there are better wingers than him such as Amad Diallo, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho. These are apparently doing well in the team and the 24-year-old has to prove that he’s better than them in training.
“Of course Antony is impatient, he wants to play and is fighting to play. We have Amad and Garna who have been very effective, with Rashford scoring at the weekend. Antony has to earn the right in training. The others are doing well so he has to get over them,” said the Dutch coach.
Additionally, Ten Hag complimented the player saying that he can bounce back and he has the ability to do so. If he does the right things, he has a huge chance to make the match-day lineups.
Antony has been underwhelming ever since his big-money move from Ajax two seasons ago. The Brazilian is the second most expensive footballer in the Red Devil’s history behind Paul Pogba.
However, he’s yet to replicate his blistering form at Ajax nor has he justified his price tag.
Most fans seem to have already given up on him and they think the best way for both parties is to part ways. Besides his awful time on the pitch, Anthony’s personal lifestyle has been sunk in scandals.
He was a couple of months ago accused by his ex-girlfriend of domestic violence although a Brazilian court found him innocent. He a few days ago proposed to his current girlfriend and hopefully, this will get his life and football career back on track.
