Esther and Ezekiel performed Calum Scott’s ‘You’re the reason’ song. And this was a tribute to their mother, Julie Mutesasira.
They put up a melodius and angelic performance as they took to the grand stage. And their voices complimented each other.
The 2019 winners of the first edition of East Africa’s Got Talent have mastered a craft of their own. They basically sync with each other just perfectly and one can only wish time doesn’t cut them out.
After the end of their performance, the judges were left in awe and so were the crowds in astonishment. They were given a big round of applause from the judges and a standing ovation by the audience.
These two are enroute to the finals and this will just be a historic milestone and if they go ahead to win the pageant, it will be memorable.
The duo came to the spotlight on this big stage last month. This was after they performed Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks’ No Air duet.
Everyone back in the country, in Canada and those who watched the show across the world had immense praise for them.
Esther and Ezekiel in their own words were delighted to be reunited with their mother after spending 5 years apart.
They added that she had gone to make a better place for their babies as she refers to them. These also said that being apart from their mother was the most difficult time ever.
Julie on the other hand revealed that the reason she fled the country was because she’s gay. And being gay while married to a pastor in Uganda is an abomination. Therefore she had to relocate to where she felt safe.
