Exam Malpractice: UAHEB Working Towards Cancellation Of Students’ Results

The Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB) is working towards the cancellation of results of students who engaged in exam malpractice. The body wrote to the Minister of Education and Sports seeking permission to cancel the results of the four students. They had caught them cheating. These allegedly engaged in examination malpractice in the November/ December 2022 final year examinations. The board reported that these students were found in possession of written examination notes.

Last Friday, these results were released at the office of the Prime Minister. Speaking at the event, Mr. Joseph Angondua the UAHEB Executive Secretary said they had a fair hearing. Consequently, a recommendation agreed upon said they should have these results canceled.

“In accordance with part 5 section 38 of the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board rules, the board provided a fair hearing to the affected candidates and examiners. This was before recommendations were made regarding their fate. The board, therefore, recommended that the semester results of the four candidates who entered the examination room with unauthorized materials be canceled. Hon Minister, the board hereby seeks your approval for the cancellation of the semester examination result of the four candidates,” Angondua said.

In the released results, 19,697 candidates were assessed in 29 Allied Health Training Programmes. These were under programs of higher diploma, diploma, and certificate programs in 71 Allied Health training institutions.

Mr. Angondua said they discussed the results of the continuing students and approved. The board then released them to the respective institutions.
