Fans Criticize Diamond Platnumz’s English Speech At BOA Awards Ceremony

Tanzanian artiste Nasibu Abdul Juma popularly known as Diamond Platnumz is currently criticized by internet users after a recording of his acceptance speech went viral during the Best of Africa (BOA) award ceremony.

During the BOA award ceremony, the ‘Inama’ Hit maker struggled to convey himself in English language after being presented with the Philanthropic Endavour Community Action Award whilst addressing the audience at the BOA event.

In the clip, Diamond recalled his past experience whereby he started from nothing and he believes all those who are talented in music can fulfill their dreams only if they don’t give up.

In his speech, many internet users mocked his terrible English saying he would have delivered his speech in his mother language he is well familiar with.

Several fans commenting on Instagram while criticizing the artiste.

Despite strong negative reaction, the Tetema’ Hit maker was unmoved and logged into his Instagram account where he posted a photo of him with the former defender of Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand, who also scooped an award at the BOA event.

First and foremost, I’m so grateful and honoured to receive this award, and am confident that this award will motivate more youths back home and change the mindset of a lot of musicians,’Platnumz said in his speech that circulated all over the internet.
