FDC Destroyed Their Own Party And Shouldn’t Blame President Museveni – Hon Daudi Kabanda

Kasambya County MP Hon Daudi Kabanda has faulted the FDC for being at the forefront of destroying their own party. He added that they shouldn’t be blaming President Museveni for their debacles.

It should be noted that the once-strong party now has two factions. One is the Katonga faction led by Erias Lukwago, Kiiza Besigye, Wasswa Birigwa, and Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda among other top guns crucial in the formation of the party in the first place.

The other one is the Najjanankumbi led by Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Nandala Mafabi. This apparently seems to be the legal one.

Earlier this week, the Katonga faction held a delegates conference. In one of their resolutions, they proposed dissolving the party. No sooner had they said this than the Najjanankumbi came out with a statement calling them jokers and unrecognized.

FDC has for long been blaming President Museveni for infiltrating their party and leading it to collapse. But MP Kabanda disagrees saying that they caused it themselves.

He faulted Besigye who made sure that Gen Mugisha Muntu did not assume the party’s leadership. Muntu was branded a mole and eventually, Amuriat who has crushed the party won the presidency.

The MP added that Besigye has always been driven by the hunger for power. When Muntu was FDC president, Besigye undermined his leadership and went ahead to form his own coalition dubbed the People’s Government.

Muntu said, ‘time will tell,” said Kabanda.
