The UNMF was formed by Eddy Kenzo last year. He called fellow musicians to join him so that they could fight for their rights, especially the copyrights.
However, he used the opportunity to get money from the government to apparently help artists especially those who struggle with everyday life like rent, food, and even investing in their music.
Eddy Kenzo recently confirmed that the government had actually given out money to artists through the federation. He created a procedure for how artistes are going to get the money.
However, there have been more issues since he talked about the money that was released. Different artistes have come out saying they were denied money.
According to Feffe Bussi, he is happy that he doesn’t have to go through all this drama just for the money as if it is supposed to be fight for.
“I personally don’t have regrets of not joining the federation. I am just happy that I don’t have to go through some drama just to get money that is government money,” he said.
It should be noted that a number of singers revealed that they are not part of this association. The likes of A Pass among others have openly said they are never going to be part of this group. They criticized the leadership and how they handle matters.
