Women were the only ones with the ability to conceive and give birth to a child. However, that has changed with this man at least in a legalized way.
Thomas, who is a speaker, writer and defender of the rights of transsexuals, was born biologically a woman in 1974 in Honolulu, United States, named Tracy Lehuanani Lagondino . It was until 2002 when he decided to go for surgery.
In 2003 he married Nancy Gillespie as his wife but could not have children still retaining his female internal reproductive organs intact, get pregnant by cryogenic fertilization using donor sperm.
Thomas became the first man to be legally declared for pregnancy and have children within a legal marriage. Although the first pregnancy of three babies wasn’t successful due to an ectopic pregnancy, he able to give birth to Susan Juliette, in 2008, to Austin Alexander in 2009, and to Jensen James in 2010.
In that same year, he won the Guinness World Record for being the first married man to give birth. and received numerous awards.
In 2012 he filed for divorce, and in two years later in 2014 an appeals court in Arizona said that marriage was legal and therefore divorce was viable.
Thomas has become the inspiration to all men who have followed in his ways like Alexis Taborda, in Argentina.
