Floyd Mayweather’s title he won in Manny Pacquiao fight is stripped

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn’t hold the WBO welter weight world title he won after beating Manny Pacquiao in May this year anymore, this is due to the allegations of failing to comply with the rules. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) said yesterday.

The WBO said in a statement that the highest paid celebrity of this year and unbeaten champion of 48 fights missed a deadline by which he had to a $200,000 as a permit fee from his last fight in May and also vacate the junior middle weight title he also held.

For boxers to hold World titles in multiple weight classes is against the rules, the WBO said and that May weather had to specify which weight division he would retain through advising the WBO of his position last Friday at 4: 30 (ET) which he did not do.

The WBO World Championship committee is given no other option but to stop to recognize Mr.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the WBO welter weight champion of the world and strip his title for failing to obey with WBO regulations and rules of the World championship contests the WBO said in a statement.

Mayweather who finished as a top on all three score sheets and earned over $200 million from the fight that proved to be the top- grossing prize which generated a record pay per view revenue in the US of $400 million has two weeks to launch an appeal.
