The former political personality and the former president who led Real Madrid to the 1998 European Cup after 32-years of waiting, Lorenzo Sanz, has finally died at the age of 76.
The Novel Corona Virus attacked Lorenzo Sanz and was initially advised to stay at home to avoid contributing to the saturation of Spain’s beleaguered health service.
Sanz was later admitted to hospital on Tuesday after eight days of fever. A test carried out there confirmed that he had contracted Covid-19 plus other respiratory problems such as kidney failure because of an infection. Therefore as Uganda was receiving the first case last night, he also died during the same period.
Sanz’s son Lorenzo Jr, who played basketball in Madrid, had told people of his father’s worsening condition on Wednesday night.
“We have to wait 24 hours but because of his age the situation is very complicated,” he wrote on social media. “The hardest thing is not being able to see him.” He concluded.
