The rate at which civilians are dying by guns is spiralling out of control and has to be addressed as soon as possible.
Whether it’s attributed to security personnel’s lack of professionalism or the civilians’ defiance, it has to be brought down. Murders keep occurring over and over again especially since they declared the first lockdown due to covid 19.
Rumor had it first that unknown gunmen assassinated the late journalist. However, Kampala Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire confirmed that an LDU officer is responsible
“Kagolo is dead but he was not assassinated by unknown gunmen as social media reports earlier claimed. He was shot after a scuffle with an LDU.”
Robert Kagolo buried his younger brother in Masaka two days ago. This was after he died tragically. Now Kagolo himself is also dead. This tragic incident took place at his brother’s place.
UJA also released a remorseful statement about their former president. They sent their condolences to the family of the late.
“We regret the sudden death of our ex-president and Star FM journalist Robert Kagolo who has been gunned down this evening.
The news coming in to us indicates that Kagolo was gunned down in Kasengejje and later pronounced dead at St Joseph health facility in Wakiso upon arrival…”
May the late’s soul rest in peace.
