Jabbo Obbo who is contesting against Hon. Ekanya Geoffrey and incumbent Annet Nyaketcho says his mission is to provide legal service to the marginalized people especially the youth and elderly who do not have a voice.
Obbo argued that former politicians have served their selfish interests than serving local people they represent.
“If you look at the calibre of leaders we have had, majority have served their selfish motives forgetting the rural flock yet Tororo District is well placed for trade, tourism, education and industrialization,” he said.
“I come as a servant that will push Nd advocate for youth interests because they have numbers but lack a voice to push for gain from government programmes,” he added.
Pledge if voted
Jabbo Obbo pledged to revive trade and agriculture in Tororo District since its the main booming business across the border.
He also plans to revive collapsed industries so generate employment for the youth and market Tororo district as tourism site. Tororo Town is the only town with cable train to boost tourism but its at low scale.
Jabbo further pledged to work with government to ensure that national referral hospital in built to decongestant current Tororo hospital.
While in education sector Jabbo says he liase with government to put up vocational schools to teach practical skills to youth enhance youth will become job creators if they graduate in carpentry, bricklaying, motor vehicle mechanics and other practical courses.
Activities for Jabbo Obbo
As he unveils his manifesto campaign next month Jabbo Obbo intends launch free legal service to the marginalized, visit prisons and paint schools.
He will also partner with national forest authority to plant trees in a bid to improve the environment.
Tororo District is one of the the districts suffering from deforestation because of rampant Charcoal burning.
