Gashumba revealed that this is why the Nigerian music has continued to dominate in Uganda. Their content is very real and well thought out.
The outspoken man has been analysing the entertainment industry too for quite a while. He usually follows different musicians and even raised his daughter Sheilah Gashumba to get into that.
She has been working on television ever since she was a young. Now she is dating and managing a musician at the same time.
A month ago, Gashumba said he wants to also get a trendy word and hit studio to record a song. He said if artistes like Gravity Omutujju can have a hit song like ‘Okwepicha’, he can also make it.
Gashumba has now talked about how musicians have lost the potential, patience and time to build something strong. He said even the trending songs without meanings that have been released just fade away in a few days.
Furthermore, he said the upcoming artistes need to learn from the likes of Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool and Jose Chameleone who are still making it out in the music industry.
“This generation of musicians is so impatient. No one has the potential, patience or time to build anything process by process. They would rather jump onto an “easy come” option. This has brought down Ugandan music industry,” he said.
