Gaetano Kagwa Reveals How He Failed Auditioning For South African TV Series “Generations”

Ugandan media personality, actor and socialite Gaetano Kagwa, has revealed that he failed once given a role at the legendary timeless South African soap opera, Generations.

says that he had just concluded his Big Brother Africa stint and was living in South Africa. He got contacted and was offered a role on the show.

Apparently, he had to feature as the brother of one of the main actors since they almost looked similar. The Capital FM presenter however was raw and had no acting skills. On being given the script, he was nervous and freaked out.

Sadly, this career opportunity blew away and he never got the role.

“I was once called to come and audition for a role on the South African TV series, Generations. They wanted me to be a brother to one of the actors because we looked somehow similar. By that time I was still living in South Africa after my time in Big Brother. I however got so nervous on being given the script. I had never been in an acting school of sorts so I was just raw. The role just vanished since I failed,” Gaetano recalled on the Home of Our Stars show with Flavia Tumusiime.

Furthermore, Gaetano also revealed that he got into Big Brother by accident.

He was apparently at University pursuing a business course which had become a menace for him. During his second year, he notified his father that he wanted to change to political science.

All along, he had always been encouraged to be a lawyer and Political Science was the closest to law. It was then that his cousin brought the idea of Big Brother Africa.

Despite having no idea about it, he went and auditioned. Luckily for him, he won and represented Uganda in the inaugural edition.

Gaetano Kagwa made a name for himself from this show and this shaped his career path. He revealed that he’s forever grateful for the opportunities Big Brother presented to him.
