Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba Achieves Another Milestone In Mending Uganda – Rwanda Relations

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has yet bagged another achievement in mending the relationship between neighboring countries Uganda and Rwanda.

Despite performing a role that does not fall in his jurisdiction as the Commander of the Land Forces, Muhoozi has been a key player in mending the seemingly broken relationship between the two East African countries.

The new achievement will see Rwanda permit greater movement of people. This development will come into effect from the 7th of March 2022.

The General took to his Twitter page to appreciate ‘his uncle’ President Paul Kagame for reuniting the peoples of the two nations.

“As of Monday 7th March my uncle His Excellency President Kagame has permitted greater movement of people across our borders! I thank him very much for re-uniting our people. I also thank him for being a great hero,” Muhoozi tweeted.

It should be recalled that after failure of different delegates from either countries failing to restore the relationship between Uganda and Rwanda, Muhoozi managed to achieve this.

It was shortly after his meeting with President Paul Kagame that the Gatuna border got reopened. This had been closed for a period of 3 years.

Gen Muhoozi also reveals what his dad told him

In related events, Muhoozi also revealed what his father told him as young kid. This was in relation to becoming as great as his father, Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Muhoozi said that Museveni told him how he had to suffer for Uganda as the latter did.

According to the first son, he thinks he has taken this sacrifice and it will be Ugandans to decide whether he’s achieved it.

My father, President @KagutaMuseveni, told me as a young child ‘You will only be as great as me if you are willing to suffer for Uganda as I have!’ Ugandans will make their decision if I have walked in his footsteps,” Muhoozi added.

A number of people especially from the Opposition have accused Museveni of grooming his son to take over power.

Both parties have however always denied these allegations saying Ugandans have a right to choose their leader.

However, Muhoozi’s current Twitter activity and diplomatic missions suggests otherwise.
