The singer also made remarks about politics and music. The Leone Island boss urged people to separate the two. He said that music is a universal language. It’s a day-to-day thing, therefore, it’s for people’s souls.
Whereas politics on the other hand is just temporary. It comes and goes yet music is always here to stay. The Valu Valu singer said that the only similarity between politics and music is that they both have fans.
However, for music, it doesn’t segregate based on color, race, or religion, unlike politics.
Chameleone said that there is confusion amongst Ugandans based on politics. And if a remedy is not gotten early enough, society is getting ripped apart the more.
He then made a reference and said it’s like having a girlfriend and a wife. Both can do equally the same things. But it’s up to you the consumer of both to determine who to give first priority.
According to the legendary music doctor, a girlfriend can’t be equal to his baby mama. A girlfriend is just for fun whereas a wife is life Chameleone, therefore, advised fans to differentiate between their hearts and minds.
They should learn that their minds enjoy music but their hearts support a particular political party. He however blamed musicians including himself for bringing politics into the music industry.
“People have really mixed politics a lot with music and this is threatening our unity. I however don’t blame them a lot because it’s us musicians including me who brought politics into the industry. But I think they should learn to differentiate the two. Music is universal and needed whereas politics is temporary. It’s like having a girlfriend and a wife. Both can do the same thing but you have to know one is a luxury and another is an asset. Like for me a girlfriend can never be better than Mama Abba,” Chameleone said.
The singer will be having his much anticipated Gwanga Mujje concert this Friday at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
