City and Guilds works with first class training institutions to produce leaders in vocational skills development around Africa.
Therefore, the institutions will now train in oil and gas, business and technical education courses that employers demand.
He further noted that training will make Ugandan graduates competitive internationally.
The Private Sector Foundation Uganda boss challenged government to incorporate vocational skills in normal training programmes to make graduates more competitive in the job market.
“Am thankful especially to the City and Guilds, and Ministry of education for the initiative. This is an inspirational program to other institutions to upgrade their training programmes to suit the job market. Please nature them,” Badagawa said.
Commissioner for Business, Technical and Vocational Education Training Roy Aine says City and guild accreditation is in line with technical vocational education and training policy a framework launched by government.
“We commit to ensure that the policy is in line with private sector demands. Especially to deliver competitive graduates for international job market,” she said.
