Since then the Musicians, bar owners, promoters and others have complained to the government about this. Probably the government has now thought about this and given them some a green light.
Though the ban has been lifted, still some restrictions that have to be observed. Concerts are to take place in wide spaces that can allow social distancing and all other SOPs.
The time frame that has been given is from 7am to 7pm. For starters this is very good especially because we are in the festive season.
It should be remembered that by the time lock down was announced, it was Easter period and some promoters and musicians made so many losses because concerts didn’t happen.
After that there were so many big days that just came and went like there was no entertainment industry. Musicians had resorted to online concerts to keep in touch with their fans.
However at the time it has come, musicians had been complaining about Nigeria’s Omaly’s concert in Munyonyo that happened during the lockdown. This is pretty suspicious, was it done to cover up what happened or can we say the government has listened to the pleas of their people.
Whatever the case may be, it’s surely not too late for shows to start advertising because Christmas is next week.
