Local kidandali singer Gravity Omutujju has hit back at the doctors who came out protesting for his yet-to-be-released new song to be banned. The Okwepicha singer together with a female singer, Shakira Shakiraa released a snippet of their new song dubbed Dose.
These two used medical equipment such as the setting, lab coat, and stethoscope among others in their upcoming video. Apparently, this video was sexualized and it has already aroused different public opinions.
These doctors held a press conference and advised the singer to change the video lest they write to UCC to ban it. They argued that this song tarnishes the image of their profession.
This is because the two singers went beyond the limit. What they did in the song is not how medics conduct themselves. And yet the public now thinks this is the way male doctors treat their female patients.
However, the singer asked them to take a chill pill. He said that they should understand that music is dance and drama. Therefore, anything can be dramatized regardless of anyone’s profession. According to the singer, he’s actually helping promote their profession.
People who have feared going for injections will start going to doctors to get pierced. Besides, the lab coat is worn by other professions such as painters and butcherers. There is nothing special about it.
Why Omutujju thinks UCC can’t ban his song
Additionally, Gravity said that UCC can’t ban his song because they know its drama. He pointed out other songs such as Radio&Weasel’s Kyuma featuring Spice Diana, and Anknown’s Nkuweki which have similar video concepts and where the hate campaign for these was.
Furthermore, Gravity denied that this song is a perverted one. He said that it’s people who interpret it that way. Despite Shakira being almost naked in the song, the singer also denied this.
