St Nellysade said that Gravity is actually one of the best hard-core street rappers.
The Ebbaluwa singer said that he started out rapping with Gravity on a platform called HipHop Canvas in 2010. He and Gravity were one of the eventual winners of the HipHop contest then.
However they didn’t sign this duo partly because their styles weren’t so commercial. Gravity was so hard-core and Nellysade was more into poetry rapping.
“To be honest, Gravity is a very good rapper. One of the best hard-core rappers I have ever come across. He was even better than me while we were starting out in HipHop Canvas in 2010. We weren’t however signed by the label that came up because our styles weren’t good for commercial success as per the talent manager.
I was more into lyricism and poetry rap whereas Gravity was into hard-core rapping,” St Nellysade revealed.
This might have been something that Gravity observed and he quickly changed from that style. He resorted to a commercial type of rap which is more similar to ‘kidandali.’ This has seen him dragged and criticized by fellow rappers.
These accuse him of polluting and infiltrating their genre with a different style yet he goes on to claim that its HipHop.
On the other hand, the Tusimbudde singer said that he doesn’t care what style of music he does. It’s not rap that brings food to his table but rather the music he releases.
