This is because Sizza Man had it pulled down claiming copyright infringement.
Green Daddy said that he was told by his manager that the Angela singer wants Shs 10m for the song to be reinstated. However, he said that he won’t pay any penny to Sizza because he invested a lot in his music.
If Sizza Man failed to get the money from his kyeyo, he won’t milk it from him. Besides he pointed out that the veteran singer had also copy and pasted the instrumentals in his song from a Jamaican artist.
Green Daddy went ahead to point out that none of the self-styled Diktionary’s songs are authentic. They are all copied and pasted from Jamaicans. He, therefore, has no moral authority to strike his song.
Read his statement here;
“Uganda has a lot of problems trust me. Imagine Sizza Man struck my song on YouTube claiming copyright infringement. He claims that I copied his video for my Nansanana song. What he doesn’t know is that he also copied and pasted the instrumental from a Jamaican. That’s the same instrumental I also used, it’s not his. He called my manager asking for 10m shillings for the song to be reinstated. He went for Kyeyo and failed to get money. Now he is bringing his hunger to milk me but he won’t get a single penny,” the singer vowed.
Apparently, a lot of musicians especially in the earlier years copied from Jamaican songs to make their own. Most of the instrumentals they used were already in place by these Jamaicans.
Despite demands for the copyright law, some of them have been the biggest offenders of the proposed law.
Musicians such as Sizza Man, King Michael, Ragga Dee, Peter Miles, Ray Signature among others all have copy and paste in their songs. It’s not clear whether Sizza will finally budge in and let his fellow singer off the hook.
