Breakthrough In Crime Investigation: Gun Linked To Robberies And Murders Recovered

In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement authorities have successfully recovered a firearm that has been connected to a series of violent crimes spanning multiple regions, including the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) area, Busoga East, Busoga North, Elgon region, Ssezibwa, and neighboring areas.

The successful recovery of the weapon followed a targeted operation carried out on May 9, 2025, in Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District.

This operation resulted in the apprehension of Imanantireganya Alfadudu, also known as “Congolese,” who is believed to be a key figure in the string of robberies and murders that have plagued the region.

Preliminary reports from the police indicate that Alfadudu has provided crucial information during interrogation, revealing insights into the criminal operations.

He disclosed details about his accomplices, including individuals known as Mozy, Mapengo, and others, who were involved in carrying out the robberies using an SAR rifle.

Recovery of stolen weapon and arrest of accomplices

Acting on the information provided by Alfadudu, a joint security team proceeded to Girigiri Village, Maina Parish, Mpungwe Subcounty, Mayuge District, where they successfully recovered the SAR rifle along with additional incriminating evidence, such as two hammers, a knife, and jackets.

Ivulungo Bumali and his wife were taken into custody to aid in the ongoing investigations.

Preliminary findings from the security team suggest that the recovered rifle was initially stolen during a robbery incident in Mukono back in October 2024.

The unraveling of this criminal network marks a significant milestone in the efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of the communities affected by these heinous acts.
