Gunmen Open Fire At Introduction Party, Injuring Three Revelers

Police in Kikuube district in western Uganda have arrested one of their gunmen and are hunting for another who is said to be on the run after allegedly shooting and injuring three partygoers.

The incident occurred when unidentified gunmen opened fire at the gathering, which was taking place in the evening hours.

According to eyewitnesses, chaos erupted as people ran for cover and tried to escape the scene.

However the injured individuals identified as Violet Katushabe ,Joel Miguel and Julius Tugume were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, and their current condition was stabilizing by the time our source issued this statement.

Police have launched an investigation into the shooting and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Meanwhile  according to the regional police spokesperson Mr Julius Allan Hakiza, police constable Harold Mwesigwa was arrested while PC Denis Alinaitwe is currently on the run as investigations continue the motive behind this shooting.

The incident has left the community shaken and residents are calling for increased security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In similar news earlier reported by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, police authorities in Kamuli district had in custody one of their own officers on allegations of shooting a man dead while attempting to arrest a suspect on Monday evening.

The Busoga North regional police spokesperson, ASP Micheal Kasadha, confirmed the arrest of the police officer who shot dead the deceased to aid in investigations.
