“The Parliament’s twitter account was hacked and despite our best efforts, we are not able to recover it. However, we were able to recover the username and have created a new account to ensure we continue providing updates and engage with you as we have always done,’
“We assure the public that we are taking all necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. We urge you to follow our new account @Parliament _Ug for plenary updates and official communication from parliament,” Obore further said in his statement.
Meanwhile, the House spent the whole of yesterday eulogizing the late state minister for labour, Col Charles Okello Engola.
Engola was murdered by his guard is set to be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Oyam district. This will be at 2pm at Awangi village in Iceme sub county.
However, there is a funeral service for him today at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The body will then be transported to his home in Kyanja for an overnight vigil.
On Thursday, the body will depart for Oyam. There will then be a vigil at Iceme sub-county before the body is taken to Awangi village. Another vigil will take place in his village on Friday before the burial on Saturday.
