A sangoma is a Ugandan traditional healer especially operating in South Africa. These have become so common in Uganda after many of them flock to the south of the continent as paupers only to return as millionaires with flashy lifestyles.
The trend was popularized by the late Ivan Ssemwanga together with his wife Zari Hassan and his Rich Gang crew. They inspired a whole lot of others who followed in their footsteps to make a fortune in the country where witch doctors are believed in a lot.
It’s thought that witchdoctors especially from oustide South Africa have more superior powers. This is the reason these thrive but in reality are conmen disguising as traditional healers.
Akram who also lives in South Africa distanced himself from these claims. He said that he’s a certified engineer. Besides he also has his own engineering firm there. He however couldn’t provide further details about the company he claims to own.
Akram also mockingly laughed at all those who thought that his relationship with Kulthum would end in tears.
“I have never been a ‘Omusangoma’. I’m a civil engineer and I have company in South Africa.
Additionally I’m also sorry for all those who thought my love with Hajjati Kulthum was going to end in tears,” Akram said.
The couple is set to wed next month after living a full year as husband and wife. This is after a Nikkah wedding they held last year at Kulthum’s parents home in Magere.
Many social media users however believe that he’s a Sangoma and conman and the relationship will drown in tears.
