Hajjat Kulthum’s Husband Akram Gumisiriza Flees To Exile Over Politics

The late Sheikh Muzaata’s ex-wife Hajjat Kulthum’s current husband Akram Gumisiriza has fled to exile over politics. He left for the US for vacation.

However, he later said he was not going to return to Uganda because of the threats he was getting and the way he was being treated.

A few months ago, Akram Gumisiriza posted on his social media platforms saying he was interested in contesting as the president of Uganda.

He said he thinks he is the right fit and he knows that people can support him because of his capability.

Many thought he was joking but some took it seriously. While in the US, Acram said he was actually joking but the joke almost made him lose his life.

He said in Uganda, it’s dangerous to joke about politics as he has now lost his freedom. He is, therefore, seeking asylum in countries that he never thought he would live in.

“I am currently in the USA and I don’t think I will ever come back. In the post I jokingly made about becoming the president of Uganda, some people took it. I have been getting threats all the time. I advise Ugandans to never joke about politics ever, there are mafias who are ready to strike all the time,” he said.
