Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh Killed In Tehran

Hamas, the Palestinian militant group has officially announced the death of their leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, Iran, in a statement released on Wednesday (July 31).

The group revealed that Haniyeh was killed in what they described as “a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran.”

During his visit to Iran for the inauguration of the new Iranian president, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas, tragically lost his life in a strike on his headquarters in Tehran. The group mourned the loss of their “brother, leader, mujahid” who fell victim to the attack.

Ismail Haniyeh, along with one of his bodyguards, was reported dead by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after an attack on his residence in Tehran.

The IRGC confirmed the incident, stating that Haniyeh’s residence was targeted, resulting in the death of him and his bodyguard.

Unraveling the mystery behind the tragic assault

The IRGC’s Public Relations Department disclosed that the assault occurred early on Wednesday, sparking an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic event.

The cause of the attack is currently under scrutiny, with findings expected to be revealed soon.

In a gesture of sympathy, the statement issued by the IRGC extended condolences to the Palestinian people, the Muslim community, and the fighters of the Resistance Front, acknowledging the profound impact of Haniyeh’s untimely demise.

Ismail Haniyeh assumed the top leadership position within Hamas in 2017, navigating between Turkey and Qatar’s Doha to evade travel restrictions imposed on the blockaded Gaza Strip.

His diplomatic roles included serving as a negotiator in ceasefire discussions with Israel and engaging in dialogues with Hamas’ ally, Iran, showcasing his pivotal role within the organization.
