According to Tigan, social media has helped so much when it comes to the Ugandan music industry. He said people no longer struggle with promoting the music like in those days where someone had to move door to door to promote the music.
With social media, someone just posts a song and in no minute it is already viral even when it is not good.
“The industry has progressed because of the rise of social media. In our days it was very hard for us to make it in the music industry. For one’s song to go viral, it was very hard because of the promotion,” he said.
It should be noted that Henry Tigan no longer releases new music. He still gets bookings for shows for his old music.
He said the old music is better than the current music although they didn’t make much money from it then.
