According to the singer, politics has been very detrimental to the growth of music. In fact it’s the only factor hindering the industry now.
Therefore the two should be kept away from one another. And when it comes to time for voting, people can go and campaign or vote for who they want. If this is not done, there won’t be any progress.
“Politics needs to be separated from music because the two just don’t mix at all. Unity has failed to be achieved because musicians don’t want to work with each other based on politics. I would say let music be music and politics be politics,” he said.
It should be noted that politics crept into the industry the instant NUP leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine joined active politics.
Since then, musicians who don’t support him are harassed by his supporters both physically and virtually.
Bobi Wine himself has been quiet about this situation. Despite musicians coming out to tell him to tame his supporters, the NUP principal has stayed mute. He’s always said that musicians have a responsibility to side with the “people in the struggle.”
Meanwhile, the Abogezi singer also addressed the issue of musicians who abuse drugs. Tigan said that he doesn’t know why a singer should smoke 10 blunts of weed a day.
He advised them to always eat, shower, and freshen up before they smoke or drink. That’s because most can hardly quit drugs even when advised to.
