The project then got heated up and became the talk of the town. Fans as well as the singers themselves became enticed by it.
Despite being friends, Chameleone and Bebe Cool started hyping themselves up against each other. Events promoter Balaam Barugahara even revealed that he was the one going to organize this concert. However, the steam that was in it seems to have cooled down.
Talking to a local TV station, Hon Tayebwa said that the reason for staging this battle is to determine who is who between the two heavyweight musicians.
He added that battles are not primarily for people who beef with each other. Therefore, the battle between the Gagamel boss and the Leone Island singer will be to determine who is number one and two.
Additionally, the deputy speaker said that the two are the best Ugandan musicians ever. And a battle will be just for entertainment and each knowing their number.
When they asked if he would finance the concert, the MP said that he won’t. He will however give these musicians who are his friends a token of appreciation.
“Battles are not primarily between people who hate themselves. It can just be a music head-to-head for fans to enjoy. This will be the same for Chameleone and Bebe Cool. They are the best musicians ever in the country. Therefore, this battle will be to determine who is number one and two. I myself will not pump in money. But I will just give them a token of appreciation that I can afford,” said the legislator.
Although the idea seems to still be available, more details such as dates, fees and venues are yet to be communicated.
