Hundreds Arrested As President Macron Appeals For Calm; Kylian Mbappe Reacts

In the wake of protests sparked by the fatal police shooting of a teen in France, hundreds of individuals have been arrested as police clashed with the violent protesters mostly young putting pressure on President Macron.

The shooting, which occurred in the city of Nantes, has reignited tensions between French citizens and law enforcement.

The protests, which have been ongoing for several days, have been fueled by calls for justice for the victim and an end to police brutality.

Meanwhile President Macron Emmanuel called for calm and unity amidst the unrest, urging citizens to express their grievances peacefully.

The government has also announced an investigation into the shooting in an effort to provide answers and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

As tensions continue to simmer, many are calling for greater dialogue between citizens and law enforcement to address underlying issues and prevent further violence.

French football legend Mbappe called for peaceful protests and condemned violence that has erupted in the country.

“Violence solves nothing, even less when it inevitably and tirelessly turns against those who express it, their families, loved ones and neighbours,” Mbappe said.

Meanwhile Marseille which is France’s largest city, a gun store was looted by the violent protesters on Friday night and at least two individuals were arrested following which the store is now being guarded by the police.

The situation remains tense, but there are hopes that constructive conversations and meaningful action can lead to a peaceful resolution.
