“I didn’t go into the election expecting a win. Even if the election was free and fair, I wasn’t going to win. I went into the election to experience some things and I did. The election was shambolic. It’s a pity that elections have become this. Nothing happened that I didn’t expect and I am glad I got to participate in the election.”
Kabuleeta says there was nothing like free an fair during last year’s elections.
“First of all the internet was off, so how did the national tally center collect results from different areas?”, he asked.
“There was no way an election would be conducted and tallied without the internet. That shows that what was being read at the National Tally Center was complete fiction.”
Joseph Kabuleeta was commenting about the events that unfolded during elections. It is now exactly a year since the elections happened.
There are so many questions that went unanswered up to date. The violence that unfolded during the elections was far much worse than any other time.
Kenneth Lukwago, a producer and reporter at Radio one expressed his disappointment in how Police openly bartered journalists.
“From a media perspective, it wasn’t an election were we had the freedom to do many things.
I am looking forward to the day it’ll be mandatory to have things like presidential debates. The 2021 General Election wasn’t the normal election coverage for the media,” he said
