I Don’t Care How Ugandans Remember Me – President Museveni

The President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has come out to reveal that he doesn’t care about the way Ugandans remember him. As other people and leaders work to leave positive legacies, Museveni doesn’t care about what will be remembered of him.

While having a sidelines interview with US-based Ugandan journalist, Bahati Remmy during the US-AFIRCA leaders summit, Museveni was asked how he wants to be remembered.

Without mincing a word, he said that he wants to be remembered for transforming Uganda.

The President went ahead to say that together with the NRM, they want to save Uganda from being a failed state. The NRM boss added that part of this saving has already been achieved such as security and the economy.

“What do you want to be remembered for as President of Uganda?” Museveni was asked to which he replied “For having worked with the @NRMOnline and with the people to save Uganda from being a failed state. A failed state where there is no business and insecurity is high. For example, there is chaos in many parts of the world but Uganda is stable. Well I don’t care about how Ugandans remember me but for me, I’m happy to fulfill that,” said Museveni.

Further, they questioned the President about his son’s recent remarks.

Muhoozi labeled some journalists as terrorists which is a threat to democracy. They asked if Muhoozi will face punitive action but he said that it’s true some journalists are. He pointed out an example of Al Qaeda-funded journalists.

On the value of liberation when the country can’t have a peaceful transfer of power, Museveni said it’s the people’s wish.

Museveni revealed that he’s in power and running the government because of the people’s support. He said they do this every after 5 years.
