I Don’t Even Know The Lyrics To My Own Songs – Alex Muhangi

Comedian Alex Muhangi has come out to throw some light on his music career. The Comedy Store boss a while ago ventured into singing.

However, he’s promoted a number of musicians through his comedy store brand and neglected his own.

He was therefore asked why he doesn’t promote himself too. Muhangi said that he doesn’t take music seriously and for commercial purposes.

He only sings things that are trending and his is just social media music. Besides he doesn’t know the lyrics to his own songs and yet he knows other artists’ music word by word.

“I don’t do music seriously and for commercial purposes. It’s just for fun and I haven’t reached the level of doing serious music. I don’t think I’m even among the upcoming artists. Some people always even book me to sing for them on their functions and since most times I’m the MC, I just do it as a bonus. Besides I don’t know the lyrics to my own songs yet I know the ones for other musicians,” said the comedian.

Muhangi also rallied upon Ugandans ranging from musicians, the media and public to support local talents.

He also addressed the recent saga where western Ugandan singer Ray G went on a rant against singers from the central region.

This was after a singer from Mbarara known as Truth was given about a minute to perform at NBS TV’s presenter Douglas Lwanga’s purple party.

Muhangi who is organizing Ray G’s first show in Kampala at Imperial Royale said that it’s always good to give the upcoming singers a chance.
