President Museveni has said he is not the owner of Uganda much as he is in power. He says the owners of Uganda are the citizens and they are ever-increasing in number.
Museveni said this while on KTN television station. He was being interviewed on his succession plan.
“Uganda has got owners; they are here and increasing in number. When the time comes, they will sit down and decide,” he said.
Museveni however said it may not be the question of who is leading but what is being done by that person.
“The issues we have been dealing with here from 1965 are the same problems in different phases. Now we are in an easier phase where we are running the country and the question is what is to be done? What is needed? For us, we do not think it is the who, but the what?”
Rumours have been making rounds for so long within the country that Museveni is grooming his son for the presidency. Muhoozi was recently promoted to the position of General in the Army.
Much as he has never come out to say anything about his son becoming President, opposition has always accused him of manipulating his son’s growth in the army.
However, come 2026, everything will be laid bare and the country will know which is which.
